Artwork

Every piece begins on canvas with acrylic paint, modeling paste, and water-soluble graphite.

I build each work in layers, beginning with an intuitive sketch in graphite before developing the composition with acrylic washes, rich opaque passages, and textured applications of modeling paste. The water-soluble graphite allows me to establish movement, soften edges, and create subtle tonal shifts, while the modeling paste adds depth and a sculptural surface that catches the light. As the painting evolves, I continue adding layers of color, texture, and expressive mark-making until the piece feels balanced, complete, and true to its story.

My Process

Every piece begins with a story.

Whether I’m painting, creating book-inspired art, or designing custom pieces, I begin by exploring the emotions, memories, and inspiration behind the work. Nature, mythology, resilience, and the healing power of creativity are woven into every stage of my process.

1. Inspiration
I gather ideas from conversations, books, folklore, landscapes, and the natural world. I spend time sketching concepts and exploring color palettes that reflect the mood of the piece.

2. Design & Creation

Once the concept is established, I begin building layers of paint, texture, and detail. I work intuitively, allowing each piece to evolve while staying true to its original vision.

3. Refinement

The final stage is dedicated to adding depth, highlights, and finishing details. I step away from the work throughout the process so I can return with fresh eyes and ensure every piece feels complete.

4. Finished Artwork

Each finished piece is created with the hope that it tells a story, sparks emotion, and reminds us that beauty can emerge from even the most difficult seasons.
